Buxley Models was founded by Pete Watts in 2020 during the Covid 19 pandemic. Pete works as a lighting designer in theatre and concerts, an industry that has been put-on hold. The time off led Pete back to a hobby that he had enjoyed when he was younger. Now with the time to create dioramas but with no space to keep them he decided to start Buxley models and sell them to other people who prefer to concentrate their time on trains rather than the landscape.
Buxley is a fictional village where most of Petes creations reside. The name comes from a mixture of Buxton, Petes home town and Hinckley where he grew up.
